Q: hi! can you tell me, please, how much all conversion process cost for mr2 spider 2000 1.8 L4 5-speed manual and how long it takes?
A:
It depends on the motor you use.   DC motors are cheap, but they don't take hills well and will not maintain a high speed.  They are very quick on acceleration and can be don for under $10,000.   AC motors come in 2-phase and 3-phase and run off of 120VAC to 460 VAC.  There are just a few motor makers whose motors are aluminum (light weight) and that have the torque and horsepower to give quick acceleration, torque for climbing and passing and power to sustain high speeds on the highway and other roads.  They require more expensive batteries and other components, but they pay for themselves in the long run and may qualify for federal tax credits.  For instance, the Tesla S model is $106,000 and has a $57,000 tax credit so the net cost is $49,000.  Our conversions are currently estimated to cost between $30,000 to $50,000, (Predicated on the components selected) and we are not sure what the tax credit will be, but we will let you know when we know.  I hope this helps.

Q: I'm inquiring of the price of your electric A/C compressor setup. Thank you in advance.  Nate Lang
A: I believe that you can use the same one that RV's use.  They are very affordable.
